The lacking in blood is called as Anaemia. The blood volume consists of nearly 40-45% of red blood cells which carry oxygen to the tissues. The raw materials required to produce these red blood cells or Iron, Proteins and Vitamins.

Approximately one trillion cells are produced daily in Bone Marrow. The red colouring matter is called Haemoglobin. The formation of Haemoglobin depends on adequate supplies of iron and protein. Red blood cells have a life span of 120 days.

Every person should have a Haemoglobin of about 15 grams to 100 cc of blood. A shortage in Haemoglobin content causes Anaemia which results in decreased ability of the blood to carry oxygen to the tissues.

Symptoms:

Premature wrinkles, dull and tired looking eyes are the main symptoms. Other symptoms include poor memory, weakness, fatigue, lack of energy, mental depression, pale fingernails, lips and ear lobes.

Causes:

Low formation of red blood cells either due to defects in Bone Marrow or an inadequate intake of Iron, Vitamins and Protein.

Heavy loss of blood due to injury, bleeding files or heavy menstruation may also cause Anaemia.

Lack of digestive acid needed for digestion of Iron and Protein may also lead to Anaemia. Chronic diseases such as Tuberculosis with haemorrhage may also lead to Anaemia.

Other little-known reasons include Intestinal parasites or worms.

Cure:

Diet is the most important treatment of Anaemia.

Almost every nutrient is needed for production of red blood cells, haemoglobin, and the enzymes required for their synthesis.

White bread, polished rice, sugar and deserts rob the Iron from the body. Always take Iron in its natural organic form.

The foods that are rich in natural organic form are Brown rice, wheat and wheat grain cereals, leafy vegetables such as Carrot, Tomatoes, Spinach, Fruits like Apples, Berries, Grapes, raisins, figs Dates, eggs.

The intake of only Iron will not help in the regeneration of Haemoglobin. The supply of Protein too is very much essential. Be adequate in Proteins of high biological value such as those found in Milk, Cheese and Egg.

Vitamin B12 is very much essential in preventing Anaemia. Vitamin B12 is usually found in animal protein such as in organic meats like Kidney and Liver.

Other alternative sources are dairy products such as Milk, Egg and Cheese. Vegetarians can include Milk, Milk products and Eggs in their diet.

Beets are very much important in curing Anaemia. Beet juice regenerates and reactivates the red blood cells and supplies the body with fresh Oxygen.

Cold water treatment is significant in curing Anaemia. The patient should be given graduated cold baths twice daily. Sun Bath stimulates the production of red blood cells. Massage also helps to keep the blood levels high.
